Lova Projects: Lace & Fingering Weight

This page will be continually updated with details from my finished projects knitting Lova in lace and fingering weight yarns. Lace Weight

I am currently knitting ribbons for wrapping Christmas presents in lace weight yarns and threads. I can’t wait to photograph them and add them here later this year!

Fingering Weight

Fingering weight yarns are my go-to for children’s headbands. Merino and silk blends are luxurious gifts while budget-friendly 100% ‘Highland wool’ yarns are hardwearing and available in every hue imaginable.

General sizing guidelines:

Rows 1-4 make one repeat. Depending on the yarn I typically knit these with either size 1.5 or 2 (2.5mm or 2.75mm) needles.

• Baby (newborn to 1 year old): 40 repeats
• Child (1 year to 5 years): 50 repeats
• Older Child / Adult (5 years+): 56 repeats

Beads:

Size 8/0, 6/0, and 2/0 all work well. You can add them on every repeat or every other repeat along the full length of the band. Or else add them only along the top of the head. You can jump to the tutorial page for adding beads by clicking here.
